Terms of Use
MVP test version · Last updated August 26, 2026
1. The service
ONE SECOND lets a user select one UTC second of the day and, after a successful purchase, display an approved name, message, and optional media associated with that second for a fixed ownership period shown at checkout. The current MVP uses a five-year period.
2. No transfer of intellectual property in time itself
“Ownership” means a contractual right to use the selected display slot within ONE SECOND for the stated period. It does not create ownership of time, a clock value, a trademark, domain, or any other property outside the service.
3. User content
You must have the rights necessary to submit your name, message, image, GIF, link, or other content. You grant ONE SECOND a limited license to host, process, resize, display, cache, and transmit that content solely to operate and promote the service.
4. Prohibited content
Content may not violate law, intellectual-property rights, privacy or publicity rights, or contain malware, scams, impersonation, unlawful sexual content, credible threats, or other material that creates legal or safety risk. ONE SECOND may hide or remove content while preserving the underlying slot term where appropriate.
5. Moderation and reports
Users can report sold-slot content. Reports may be reviewed, dismissed, or acted upon. ONE SECOND may remove links, hide media, replace content with a moderation placeholder, or take other proportionate action.
6. Purchases and slot availability
A slot is not secured merely by opening the purchase form. A temporary reservation may be created during checkout. The slot becomes sold only after the payment provider confirms payment and ONE SECOND records the completed purchase. Failed, cancelled, or expired reservations may be released automatically.
7. Service changes and availability
The MVP may change, pause, or experience errors. We may modify technical implementation, hosting, payment providers, pricing, and moderation systems while preserving paid user rights to the extent reasonably possible.
8. Termination for abuse
We may restrict use or remove content when necessary to comply with law, platform rules, security requirements, or these terms. A content-removal decision does not automatically imply a refund; refund eligibility is governed separately.
9. Contact and operator information
Operator identity, business registration details, legal contact address, and support email will be inserted before live commercial launch.
